The name Byrd and the word Brazil are practically synonymous. After all, it was guitarist Charlie Byrd who first brought Brazil’s mesmerizing, breezy fusion of jazz and Brazilian music to North American audiences, launching the bossa nova craze in the U.S. in the early ’60s.
