Teatro Municipal vai ao Delírio Com "João Donato" e Banda.

João Donato e banda quebraran tudo no teatro municipal sabado, acho que foi o melhor show que vi na minha vida, improvisos, swing e groove´s jamais visto, numa mistura de funk,rock, jazz e musica eletrônica nos metais a presença especial de "Bocato".

A idéia de centrar o show em cima do exelente disco "A Bad Donato( 1970)" foi muito acertada.

1- Tava zapeando pela tv na sexta dia 27 de abril quando me deparei com o programa "Som Brasil" que tinha uma homenagen ao Vinicius de Moraes na tv globo,quando me deparei com o criolo doido e cia quebrando tudo,porra fiquei de careta muito bom a parada e ainda tem neguin que fala que rap não é musica !!!!!tive o prazer de conhece o cara na galeria olido,realmente o cara manda muito bem,tinha + 2 manos não me recordo bem os nomes. mas enfin ta dado o recado.

2-A festa do hotel Cambridge nesta vespera de feriado foi a melhor de todas, casa lotada Dj´s kl Jay, Zinco, MF e Niak quebrando tudo e a presença especial de "Dj Premier" que com muita simpatia distribuiu autrografos simpatia e fotografias para todos.

3- Neste sabado dia 5 o que não vai faltar é opção pra ver boa musica, o cardapio vai ser bem variado,o destaque além de Racionais,Nação zumbi e etc,na minha opinião vai ser o Raul de Souza que vai se apresentar no teatro municipal com um show calcado no seu disco de funk " Swet Lucy" e João Donato que tera como base o seu extraordinario disco de funk experimental dos anos 70 "A Bad Donato".

Once one of the most visible and winning jazz vibraphonists of the 1960s, then an R&B bandleader in the 1970s and '80s, Roy Ayers' reputation s now that of one of the prophets of acid jazz, a man decades ahead of his time.
A tune like 1972's "Move to Groove" by the Roy Ayers Ubiquity has a crackling backbeat that serves as the prototype for the shuffling hip-hop groove that became, shall we say, ubiquitous on acid jazz records; and his relaxed 1976 song "Everybody Loves the Sunshine" has been frequently sampled.
Yet Ayers' own playing has always been rooted in hard bop: crisp, lyrical, rhythmically resilient.
His own reaction to being canonized by the hip-hop crowd as the "Icon Man" is tempered with the detachment of a survivor in a rough business. ...

Musiq Soulchild coloca novo álbum no topo da Billboard

Sensação do hip hop Soul e considerado um dos grandes nomes da world music, o americano Musiq Soulchild volta à lista da Billboard, que relaciona os CDs mais vendidos nos Estados Unidos. Com a estréia do álbum "Luvanmusiq", ele aparece no topo seguido por outras duas estréias: "Lloyd", de Street Love, e "Rich Boy", de Rich Boy.
O disco "Luvanmusiq", quarto trabalho do cantor, saiu pela Atlantic Records, gravadora que já trabalhou com grandes nomes da música como Ray Charles e Led Zeppelin.
Também estreou na lista americana, tempos depois de já estar nas paradas do Reino Unido, "Back To Black", segundo álbum da inglesa Amy Winehouse, que tem a produção de Mark Ronson --responsável pelo álbum de Lily Allen, outra garota-prodígio inglesa.
O primeiro single do álbum, "Rehab", em que Amy fala de seus problemas com o excesso de álcool, rendeu ao CD uma estréia no terceiro lugar da parada britânica.

Estive ontem no memorial da América latina vendo a apresentação da orquestra jazz sinfônica, que teve com convidado especial o fantástico Eumir Deodato,é incrível como Deus da um dom extraordinário pra certas pessoas,eu tenho todos os seus discos e fico ouvindo suas musicas e pensando que musico extraordinário, um dia quero ver pessoalmente, até que enfim isso aconteceu ontem.
E foi muito bom, quem foi sabe do que estou falando pena que com essa formação foi a ultima apresentação e eu quase não fui, não tinha ingressos resta agora ver o cara no sesc vila Mariana.

When Lonnie Liston Smith made the transition from sideman to leader in 1973, it was the beginning of a fusion/crossover/post-bop band he dubbed Lonnie Liston Smith & the Cosmic Echoes. The acoustic pianist/electric keyboardist, who was born in Richmond, VA, on December 28, 1940, should not be confused with soul-jazz/hard bop organist Lonnie Smith. This Smith would have had an impressive resumé even if he had never formed a band of his own. In the '60s or early '70s, he had been a sidemen for, among others, Pharoah Sanders, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Gato Barbieri, singer Betty Carter, and trumpeter Miles Davis. Biography

Part of the new-millennium resurgence of alternative rap, Little Brother's inspirations were atypical for Southern hip-hop: classic Native Tongues outfits like De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest, as well as more recent torch-bearers like the Roots and Black Star. MCs Phonte (born Phonte Coleman) and Big Pooh (born Thomas Jones) swapped rhymes with an easy chemistry, but the group's real focal point was DJ/producer 9th Wonder (born Pat Douthit), an old-school sampling technician who quickly established himself as a worthy heir to production wizards like DJ Premier and Pete Rock.

Little Brother formed at North Carolina Central University, located in Durham. All three members had known each other since 1998, when they performed in a local hip-hop outfit called the Organization; after its dissolution in 2000, they spearheaded a 12-member crew dubbed the Justus League. The trio worked together off and on in varying combinations, until they officially teamed up as Little Brother in August 2001, adopting the name as a humble nod to their influences. Their first recording together was "Speed," a playful, down-to-earth look at the pressures of holding a day job while trying to make it in the music business; it set the tone for much of their early material.

Over the next few months, they developed enough of a repertoire to start performing live around the area, and quickly earned a following. When the group made its music available for download on the Internet, a substantial buzz built far outside of North Carolina, and it eventually earned them a deal with the Oakland-based ABB Records in 2002. In early 2003, Little Brother released its full-length debut, The Listening, which won widespread critical praise that focused especially on 9th Wonder's production. The buzz helped him earn a raft of high-profile outside gigs, including tracks on a pair of multi-platinum releases: The Black Album by Jay-Z and Destiny Fulfilled by Destiny's Child.

Little Brother leapt to a major label (along with ABB) in 2005 for The Minstrel Show. In January 2007, as the group was finishing up their next release, Getback, it was announced that Little Brother had left Atlantic and that 9th Wonder had amicably left Little Brother.
